Breakfast and Snack Programs

In proud partnership with the Thunder Bay Red Cross and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (Northern Vegetable & Fruit Program), our school is pleased to offer the Student Nutrition Program (SNP). The students are given a nutritious breakfast in the morning and a healthy snack during the school day and additional food is sent home to the families.

These programs are designed to be accessible to all students, helping them stay energized, focused, and ready to learn both in and out of the class

Great Big Crunch

Every year, the students participate in the “Great Big Crunch” and are eligible for prizes. Every student is given an apple to CRUNCH on National Crunch Day. Students, educators, families and communities from coast-to-coast come together to take one big crunch and make noise for healthy school food in Canada.

Each Crunch builds momentum for strong, universal, and sustainable school food programs that nourish children and youth across the country.

School Garden

Our students plant vegetables every spring in our School Garden and then enjoy harvesting and eating all the delicious vegetables in the fall!

Our school garden allows our students to take their learning outside. Working as a team, students learn about growing their own fruits and vegetables, harvesting what they have grown, and even preserving the produce!

Adjacent to the school garden is a grape vineyard. The students pick the grapes and then make grape jam and fruit roll-ups.
